FASHION/ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHY

I think this photo was achieved in a studio with a dark backdrop. I believe the photography stood a little to the left side, so the model won’t be centered. Lastly, I think the photography told the model to have a serious model face while positioning her correctly.
I think this photo was taken in a studio with a white background. The photographer probably had to crouch down to capture this angle. And lastly, this photo was edited into a black and white photo with great contrast and exposure.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN PHOTOGRAPHY
This article talked about Artificial Intelligence in Photography. AI makes taking photos and editing them easier. AI helps computers be able to do the same things that a human person would do on a computer. It explains how the digital smart assistants help us through a screen by using AI. Lastly, it talks about how there’s already AI in apps to help with adjusting contrast and exposure.
In my opinion, Ai is really helpful especially for new beginners in photography. There’s free tools that can help new beginners by using AI. It can make your photos look better than they actually are. I think people shouldn’t use AI too much because then they lose their own creativity and style. I think the best way to effectively use AI is to make your pictures look better so you can learn how to take better pictures.
STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO

ARLO– One day my aunt was taking a photo of me because I looked so cute. She showered me, blow dried my hair and then brushed my knots out. I didn’t want to shower so I was fighting back a little. I hate showers because they take so long. The worst part of showering is being wet once I get out. The water drips everywhere because the towel is too small for me.
I’ve been growing a lot. I can’t wait to get bigger and bigger. My big birthday is coming soon. I’m going to be 1 years old on July 25th!!! I’m so excited for my birthday because I’m going to get a big cake. I love food so much. I think I keep growing because I eat so much.
I love this photo because my aunt was telling me how cute I looked. She always compliments me which is why I love her so much. In this photo she told me she was going to send the picture to my mom to show her I finally showered. This is my favorite photo ever because I look so handsome.

FUTURE REFLECTION

DIGITAL COLLAGE BASED ON A THEME

The theme of this art piece is the power of our childhoods. The giant kids standing behind the city make it look like they are playing with toys and eating chocolate cake like we do in our childhood. I think the artist wanted to show the how the kids view the world differently from grown people. I like this piece of art because they turned a normal place into something cool with their imagination.
FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY

These two photos are strong because they make the food look warm and fresh. In the first photo the soft light adds texture to the croissants. The photo has golden tones which makes it look crispy. The photo gives a cozy vibe and makes me crave the food. The items around the main focus are blurred which brings the main focus a lot of attention. Overall, this photo reminds me of a scene from a movie because the food is so nice that it looks fake.
In this photo the food stands out because of the dark background. This photo caught my attention because the pancakes are well decorated and they look fresh. The composition in this photo is very strong because everything is arranged purposely. Since the pancakes are centered it makes the pancakes stand out and feel important. Overall, the lighting and the composition work well together and makes me crave the food.
Top 5 Tips on How to Photograph Food Article
This article was very informative and taught me tips on how to photograph food. We do not need to spend so much money on gear and a food stylist because we can easily learn how to take amazing food photos. First, the chef should always begin the work by plating the dish beautifully. The food should be placed neatly so it looks appetizing. If there’s any distractions in the image, fix it and try all over again. Second, keep the food fresh when photographing to keep it looking appetizing. If necessary, replate the food to keep it looking fresh. Third, focus on the main details so it looks appealing. Fourth, always use natural lighting when photographing food because it’s the most flattering. Lastly, use a shallow depth of field so the photo looks interesting and have fun when photographing food.
CULTURAL IDENTITY PHOTOGRAPHS

CULTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY: READ AND RESPOND
This article talks about how he struggled to name the type of photography work he did because it truly never fit in a certain category. He began calling his work Cultural Photography because he wanted to show the culture from his point of view. The article shows that cultural photography is more than just taking pictures of people. It helps us learn about traditions and beliefs. He focuses on the meaning behind his powerful photos more than anything.
One of the most interesting parts of the article was when he explained that culture can also be found in cities and everyday life. I find it interesting how he studied what he photographed so he can understand the culture. This shows that a good photographer understands what they are photographing. He was very serious about his cultural photography. He represented the culture correctly instead of just photographing for the “aesthetic”.
Overall, this article shows that photography is about dedication and the experience. His studies stood out to me because it shows how much effort he put into his work. This article taught me to understand cultural photography by representing it and by creating amazing photos. The author tried to capture all parts of culture in his photos including the visible and invisible traits. Photography helps express cultures and tell deep stories about the way people live.

FIVE TIPS I LEARNED:
- A technique to try when taking pictures of bikes is the SLOW SYNC FLASH because it gives a good effect.
- Moving cars are good objects to use for a Motion blur image.
- You need to perfect the shutter speed when photographing a bird because their wings are very fast.
- Escalator Photography is usually done at night to capture the light in the tunnels.
- When it’s difficult to find subjects to take photos of, the busiest street corner is the best to capture a lot of movement

WHICH LENS SHOULD YOU USE
The article explains the difference between wide-angle and telephoto lenses and how the lenses help photographers know which one to use. The article thoroughly describes the different types of wide-angle lenses and the different lengths of telephoto lens. It also lists the pros and cons of the different lenses because they are used for different circumstances. Wide-angle lenses have a short focal length to show more of the scene. This type of lens is good for small spaces, landscapes, and buildings. A telephoto lens has a long focal length to make things look closer. This type of lens is good for sports, portraits, and wildlife. A wide-angle lens is used when you want to fit a lot into one photo, and a telephoto lens can be used when you want to zoom in on a subject that’s far away.

READ AND WRITE REVIEW
- Aperture controls how much light comes in and how wide the camera opens. Shutter speed is how long the camera stays open, and it controls the motion blur. Lastly, ISO is the light sensitivity.
- You need to change your ISO when it’s too bright or too dark or are changing location.
- Aperture priority lets you pick the aperture and the camera pics shutter speed. Shutter priority lets you set the shutter speed while the camera chooses the right aperture.
- AF modes are autofocusing modes. It tells your camera how to focus on subjects. You change them on the menu screen; there’s an AF button.
- You need to meter the light to get the right exposure because if you don’t, the photos could be too dark or too bright.
- A normal lens is like the human eye which is 50mm. A wide-angle lens captures more of the scene. Lastly, a telephoto lens zooms in on distant subjects.
- White balance adjusts color tones in photos, so whites look white and so photos don’t look too blue, orange, or green.
- Depth of field is the distance between the closest and furthest objects in a photo that appear sharp. Shallow depth of field means a small area is in focus and deep depth of field keeps it more in focus.
- Drive modes are how a camera takes photos including single, continuous, and timer. Metering modes are how the camera measures light.
- Exposure compensation lets you take a photo brighter or darker without changing settings.
SIMULATOR
The simulator helped me learn how to work ISO, shutter speed, aperture again. I was able to experiment with the settings to see how to get the perfect photo. I had trouble at first but then I got the hang of the different settings. Overall, the simulator was very helpful.
